These high-performance gas-charged atruts use monotube construction for increased cooling, and are valved to give the xA, xB, and tC a firmer, more responsive ride and improved handling. They are tuned to work best when combined with the stiffer TRD Lowering Springs, but also improve handling using the stock Scion spring setup.

Front Strut Tie Bar

Improve handling and obtain maximum efficiency and strength with this front strut tie bar. Unlike the mild steel used in other after-market products, the TRD Front Strut Tie Bar's added strength comes from TIG-welded oval extruded aluminum material. It has been powder-coated in a "TRD" red-titanium colored coating for maximum protection and durability.

Sport Muffler

tC SuperCharger

The TRD Supercharger is a centrifugal supercharger design. This design features a housing (scroll) and an impeller that is shaped similar to a turbocharger. It is, however, not driven by hot exhaust gases as is the case with a turbo. Instead the supercharger uses a patented extended drive to couple the supercharger with a drive belt that is driven off the engine's crankshaft. Unlike some other systems, centrifugal blowers are true compressors. As the superchager draws in air it accelerates and compresses the air internally. The scroll collects the compressed air and forces it (at an accelerated speed) into the discharge tube, and then into the intake manifold. This compressed air is mixed with additional fuel (via sophisticated calibration) which results in higher power output. A supercharged tC will see an improvement of 40hp and about a 17% improvement in torque.

Performance Clutch

This heavy-duty unit is designed to withstand severe use, even with modified engines, and deliver a long, trouble free service life under rough conditions. Clamping pressure is substantially increased, though pedal pressure is only slightly greater than stock. Disc lining has increased resistance to heat and wear, and the hub springs are stronger for more positive take-up and shifting. Includes new disc and clutch cover.
